At the 2023 Annual Meeting, the membership of The Meeting House will vote on the addition of Julie Stout to the Church Board.
Julie became a member of The Meeting House, Carlisle in the early 1980s and became involved in Children’s Ministry, teaching for the Pioneer Girls club program and Sunday School classes over the next 35 years. Today you can find her serving at the Uptown Check-in Desk every other Sunday morning. She has served on the Congregation”s church board and various other committees. Julie currently serves on the General Conference Board of the Brethren in Christ US as a member at large and Treasurer and on the Board of the Brethren in Christ Foundation.
Growing up in Central Pennsylvania, Julie attended Elizabethtown College and graduated with an accounting degree in 1975. After earning her CPA at Ernst & Young, she worked in corporate finance and governance for a large manufacturer in Carlisle, PA until 1997. Her subsequent time in banking provided useful experience to take on the role of CEO of the Brethren in Christ Foundation in 1999. In 2003, Julie accepted the position of CFO at Messiah Lifeways, where she worked until retiring June 2014.
Since retiring, Julie enjoys volunteer work, watercoloring, reading, entertaining friends and family and working on the many projects around her home and garden.
